We hosted a Wheelchair Basketball Celebration in honour of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, bringing together sport, community, and inclusion in a powerful display of unity and resilience. 💜🩵
The event was held at Hope School, a facility well-equipped to accommodate and support the competition. We transported young people from Daveyton, Mayfield, and Etwatwa to witness inclusion in action and experience the energy of adaptive sport firsthand. The day showcased courage, teamwork, and determination, creating a memorable and inspiring experience for all who attended.
We were also joined by various disability organizations from Daveyton and Tembisa, who participated and supported the celebration of inclusivity. Teams that competed included Hope School, Ithembelihle LSEN School, Adelaide Thambo School, Spartans, , and a Tembisa-based group. All participating teams were recognized and awarded prizes, ensuring that every participant was celebrated for their effort, spirit, and sportsmanship.
