DESCRIPTION:We hosted a Community Dialogue under the theme “Beyond Awareness of GBV: Building Safe and Economically Empowered Communities” at the Tshepo Themba Hall in Etwatwa East. The event was held in collaboration with the Etwatwa SAPS Youth Desk and brought together a range of community stakeholders\, including organisations working in skills development\, GBV prevention and empowerment\, substance abuse support\, and law enforcement.

SUMMARY:Wheelchair Basketball Competition
DESCRIPTION:We hosted a Wheelchair Basketball Celebration in honour of International Day of Persons with Disabilities\, bringing together sport\, community\, and inclusion in a powerful display of unity and resilience. 💜🩵 \nThe event was held at Hope School\, a facility well-equipped to accommodate and support the competition. We transported young people from Daveyton\, Mayfield\, and Etwatwa to witness inclusion in action and experience the energy of adaptive sport firsthand. The day showcased courage\, teamwork\, and determination\, creating a memorable and inspiring experience for all who attended. \nWe were also joined by various disability organizations from Daveyton and Tembisa\, who participated and supported the celebration of inclusivity. Teams that competed included Hope School\, Ithembelihle LSEN School\, Adelaide Thambo School\, Spartans\, Elethu Cheshire Home for the Disabled\, and a Tembisa-based group. All participating teams were recognized and awarded prizes\, ensuring that every participant was celebrated for their effort\, spirit\, and sportsmanship.

DESCRIPTION:On Women’s Day\, we honoured the courageous women of 1956 who stood united against oppression and paved the way for future generations. 💜💙🖤 \nAs we reflected on their bravery and resilience\, we also acknowledged that the fight for equality had continued in different forms over the years. From advocating for equal opportunities and gender justice to empowering women through education\, leadership\, and economic participation\, the day served as a reminder of the ongoing journey toward meaningful change in our communities. \nAs part of the commemoration\, we hosted an inspiring dialogue featuring women speakers from our local community who are business owners and leaders in their respective fields. We were honoured to be joined by Funani Ntombela of Funarya Beaute\, Lerato Miya-Jele of LNL Travels\, and Khaya of LCD Khaya Driving School\, who shared their entrepreneurial journeys\, challenges\, and achievements. \nWe also included a representative from Standard Bank\, who provided valuable insights on financial literacy\, equipping attendees with practical knowledge on money management and financial empowerment. \nThe event celebrated the strength\, determination\, and impact of women past and present\, while inspiring continued efforts toward building a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
